The Spectrum of Love

Intro:
A. There is a way more excellent than spiritual gifts – 1Cor 12:31
B. In 1 Cor.13, just as sunlight refracted through a prism, or rainbow, is broken into beautiful colors, love is broken into its many parts!
C. We are not given a definition of love; but we are told:
1 What love does.
2 How love acts.
I. Love is patient and is kind.
A. Not hypocritical - Rom. 12:9
B. Unfeigned - 2 Cor. 6:6
C. Eph. 4:32; 5:1-2
D. Tit. 3:4-6
II. Love is not jealous (envies not):
A. Envy is devilish. - Jam. 3:13-18
B. Wisdom from God is easy to be entreated - Jam. 3:13-18
>A qualification of elders - Titus 1; 1 Tim 3.
III. Love does not brag.
A. Servant, humble, obedient - Phil 2:5-8
B. Do nothing through vainglory – Phil 2 :1-3
C. Col. 3:1-3, 5, 9-10, 12-14
